I've gone kind of friends-only. Zachariah banner still fierce, though the coloring looks icky on this computer (it looked good on my desktop monitor, I swear!). I don't think I missed public-ifying anything important, but let me know. A "welcome to my whining filter" post will follow this one, and if you still want on that filter, poke me!
Going to see Fanboys this afternoon, so yay! Hopefully that'll get me in the mood to write something fun.
So I have a twitter, right? But it's a RL one, with friends who are not in fandom. I'm trying to decide if I want to just ignore that and go and add my fandom-oriented friends to that one and pretend that no, my residents (I'm an RA in a freshman dorm full of journalism majors who are twitter-obsessed) and colleagues won't judge my @whoever responses that show up on their twitter feeds, OR if I want to just make myself a separate fandom-oriented one. That seems like such a cop-out, though, and to tell you the truth, I'm way, way less embarrassed about my fandom activities than I used to be.
Now for the Show stuff.
I enjoyed the episode a lot.
pyrebi and I were going to watch it on the big screen in the lobby, but they moved the TV and it's no longer connected to the cable (which: what the fuck?), so we had to scramble upstairs to watch on my crummy little 12" television. We missed the whole Sam SLASH Dean thing. The first thing we saw was trampstamp girl.
Now that I've downloaded it, converted it to .mp4, and watched it again, I have to say that I'm glad I missed that first bit. It was funny, but it did make me kind of uncomfortable. Now, I've seen some on my flist who nearly refused to watch the episode at all, and I've seen people who were like, "THIS EPISODE IS THE BEST EVARR!!!" I'm rarely polarized in what I think about anything, but I can see why people feel both ways.
That said, I quite adored Chuck. I was so relieved that he didn't die, considering Show's track record with killing characters I think are adorable (see my icon). I really just liked the episode. The laundromat scene! The insightful conversation between Sa and Chuck! Sneaky!Castiel! Zachariah!
I'm not that surprised that Dean would've read Vonnegut. It's pretty much right up his alley, after all. I can just see teenage Dean picking up Breakfast of Champions, thumbing through it and finding the sketches of the asshole or the vagina, and being like, "This man is my other hero."
Also, Dean, those are your favorite Zep songs-- let alone favorite songs period? "Ramble On"? Really? The other one I can see; it's actually a Robert Johnson song. But "Ramble On"? I wouldn't even put that on the list.

I loved the fandom shout out. I thought it was funny, and even though I read Wincest, if I found out that someone was writing fanfiction about me and my brother (don't have one, but still) having sex, I'd be super grossed out too.
As far as Twitter goes, as long as you're not going @rebekahfair OMG THAT INCESTUOUS FANFICTION WAS SO HOT, I don't think you'd have a problem. ;)

Aww, now I just have this sad image in my head of Dean spending most of his youth hiding his intelligence. Dean!

HAHA, my roommate is reading over my shoulder. "I love Ramble On," she said, sounding a little wounded. Though our fave Zeppelin song is Kashmir :)
ANYWAY I loved Chuck. Loved, loved, loved Chuck. He was so cute: "Writing is hard!" Hee.
And. Wow. I love Castiel. Like, really love him. That scene in the motel parking lot where he was all "hint, hint, put the prophet in the same room with Lilith and something may or may not happen..." (pointed look).
and my heart melted when Dean started praying.
I liked the episode, honestly. I went into it expecting it to be just another filler, you know? and it drives me CRAZY when they put two fillers next to each other, so the fact that they intro-ed a new character (who will hopefully come back!) and addressed the arc made me happy :)
