Should be posted to likeanything but I don't feel like switching journals. These are things I'll never finish, which I feel nothing for at this point. Most of them are in only very rough form. Maybe I've even posted them before.

I won't make excuses, but I will make apologies. Lots of them. Because I am sorry. I'm kind of heartbroken about a lot of stuff right now. This failure is just another shovelful for the pile.

Real life has been kicking my ass this month and not apologizing, and frankly, the fic wasn't good enough to post anyway.

Maybe, as wendy said in her email, the fic never will be posted. Who knows. Just go enjoy PM's art and hope for the best that I can get my head out of my ass and post on August 12.

Is it just me, or does this Hitched or Ditched seem like a HORRIBLE idea, and that anyone who agrees to go on that deserves the inherent misery that always goes with ultimatums?

Oh, right. And that show I just watched. About that.

I found an unopened can of Campbell's chicken noodle soup on the bathroom floor, so I just ate it for lunch. I choose not to think about the hows and whys of how the can got to be on the bathroom floor, and the soup brought back so many childhood memories. I kind of wish it was chicken and stars, though. That was always my favorite. I never added water to my condensed soup as a kid, either. I would pour off some of the salty condensed broth, though.

Anyway, so yeah. I just realized that I should never, ever do drabble memes. EVER. I was taking a nap, and I had this HIMYM dream (Barney and Lily talking, it was BFF-tastic and awesome, and the fact I dream about friends and not, like, porn is probably kind of telling about the state of my life right now), so when I woke up I started to write caruso's prompt, a J2 HIMYM.

I NOW HAVE 1300 WORDS, and Robin!Jensen and Barney!Jared haven't even had a conversation yet. DAMN IT, ALEX.

Add that on top of the 700 words I already had for winterweathered's non-AU J2 prompt, I am FAILING at the "drabble" part of this meme, clearly. And I haven't even thought about everybody else's prompts because those two just are the first two.

I'm going to have to go for an incomplete in this PP&P class. That's just all there is to it. Damn it.

Did some crappy writing today. Started my hermionebigbang. Looks like Hermione gen (maybe) with a side of Harry/Draco. Might be fun. I don't know. Haven't written Harry Potter fic in... three years or so.

I bought a mini-to-DVI adapter so I can hook up my Macbook to my 22" monitor, mostly so I can edit Deadsville with three windows open side-by-side at once. Still don't feel like working on it, but I'm encouraged by Bekah's initial thoughts on it, and I've been thinking about maybe developing the wives a little more. I'm worried about going too much into Closer territory, though. I cannot possibly be the only person who expected Clive Owen/Jude Law a little bit in that one.

WHY IS EVERYONE BRINGING THE COOKING PORN FIC LATELY? (and I don't mean sexing, okay, just cooking) STOP BEING AWESOME, MY LITTLE FOODIE BRAIN CAN'T HANDLE IT.

essene with THIS, Home Cookin', a preslash foodporn dream, in which personal chefs are hired, superlative dinners are produced (BRAISED LAMB! CHOCOLATE POTS DE CREME! I'M SOLD, OKAY?), and the banter is fun.

Now I have to go and hunt up other food fic and make a themed recs list. Off the top of my head I can think of that Food Network one with the abrupt ending and Garlic and Butter (the Ratatouille one), and I bet there's plenty of good gen and wincesty cooking fics, too. I'm all excited about this now. Is it egomaniacal of me to include myself in that (I did write a gigantic one, after all)?



Also, much hilarity at spn_gossip. But no fights lately, which is kind of a bummer. Is it sick of me that I love when they fight?

I have nothing of substance to say. Made it home from DC safely. I took tons of pictures at the Smithsonian, but then my camera battery died halfway through the forensic anthropology exhibit and stupid me didn't take the charger, so nothing else.

I'm still exhausted from everything, and the pile of things I have to do and haven't for my PP&P class just got one more thing taller today. I think I might have to withdraw from this class, I'm sorry to say.

And Big Bang summaries are up! I can't get over HOW MANY THERE ARE, OMG. Some sound kind of lame, some sound like stuff I would read on a slow fic day, and some I want to read immediately. Which, really, is par for the course.
